Two new wines from Argentina

The Etchart vineyard, founded in 1850
in the remote north west province of Salta
is about a mile above sea level making it
one of the highest commercial vineyards
in the world.

The head winemaker is a man of considerable experience in, Italy, Spain, Chile and America. His thoughtful and experimental approach to winemaking
has produced these 2 wines that are
indeed well worth trying.

Etchart Privado Torrontés, Salta

The finest example of this g rape Torrontés comes form the high altitude vineyards of the Cafayate Valley. Fermented at low temperature in modern stainless steel
tanks before bottling early to capture the grape's charachter. A wine that is sure to
appeal to many different palates.

Etchart Privado Cabernet Sauvignon, Salta

A long 3 week maceration with regular "pumping over" ensures this wine has great depth
both of colour and of flavour. Blended with 15% Malbec, which adds to the breadth of
flavour, it is matured for 12 months in stainless steel. The Cabernet fruit shines though
with no oak influences and can be enjoyed whilst still youthful or allowed to mature and develop a greater complexity with age.
